SERV Kent is 100% run by volunteer riders, drivers and controllers. It provides a free blood (and other medical products) collection and delivery service to the NHS, 24/7/365.

An impressive contingent of KAMG riders were led by Kent police and KF&RS in escorting Terry’s ashes by motorcycle to Headcorn airfield for the scattering of his ashes from a light aircraft on Monday 2 October. Terry’s family, friends, former work colleagues and KAMG members then met in the Headcorn airfield bar & restaurant over light refreshments, generously provided by Terry’s family. A book of condolence was signed and packets of ‘Forget-me-not’ seeds given out for all to plant and to remember Terry by.

We are delighted to announce that KAMG has a new Group Run Organiser, Chris Brooker, a Full Member and holder of the Master’s Certificate. Chris is committed to demonstrating to Associate Members the standard of riding they should be reaching through participation in KAMG’s monthly training and social rides. Additionally, Chris is keen to encourage further social rides throughout the year and will be the point of contact for any members wishing to plan a ride and put it on Tracker. Chris’s name will appear on Tracker as Group Run Organiser after the next Training & Social Ride has been ridden.

Tina will be there from 11.30am – members and associates are welcome to join her for a complimentary brunch if you wish. We shall be leaving Grays escorting the open top bus, complete with brass band, and riding down to the Morrison store at Chelmsford.

Charity Easter Egg Run to Scotts’ Project Trust, meeting at Rocfort Road Car Park, Snodland, ME6 5NQ (free parking).
09:45 for 10:00 departure. For Full Members and Associates. Refreshments and homemade cake will be served upon arrival.

At Ebbsfleet International car park, 09.45am – 15.00 (aprox).
This will comprise a theory and practice training session within the car park area, followed by an on-road observed session. Subjects covered include: motorcycle dynamics, suspension set-up, braking techniques, rider and pillion communications, mounting and dismounting techniques, T-junctions, U-turns, slalom and more.

Mental Health Motorbike exists to create meaningful opportunities to grow the greater well-being of the motorbike community, aiming is to reduce suicide among bikers in the UK.

KAMG Chief Observer Ian Walker has been recruited by Katrina Lowe (IAM RoadSmart Area Service Delivery Manager) to become a Masters Mentor (motorcycles) with immediate effect. Ian joins a group of around 20 Masters Mentors covering the South East of England. Trevor Shearsmith, Colin Underwood and Steve Riches are also Masters Mentors attached to KAMG.
The IAM Roadsmart Masters qualification is the highest standard of civilian riding ability in the UK.

Starting from the EuroTunnel Folkestone, train departs 07:50 am. Two hours to look around the museum (tickets €10.50), then to Saint-Omer for lunch. Training runs are split into in groups of four riders with an Observer either leading or tail-ending, the Associate member(s) riding number 2 and 3, swapping around at a halfway stop. This gives Associate Members the chance to be led by a Green Badge holder and witness the calibre of ride they should achieve to gain an Advanced rider test pass.

Once again, we will be spending a week in the super town of Vianden in Luxembourg. This tour will include rides to Germany, Belgium, France taking in the wonderful Ardennes and Mosel regions. We will be staying in the fabulous Belle-Vue hotel, which boasts secure underground parking, indoor swimming pool, spa and gym.

Meet 17:45 at Maidstone services for 18:00 departure. A social ride using the marker drop-off marker system, a route of approximately 40 miles – for Full Members and Associates. The most gentle trip run by our very own Steve Riches, and great for any level of rider. If you’re new to touring, would like a ride which is easy for a pillion or wish to use this to practice for a longer tour, this is a great trip. Riding mileages are approx 175, 140 & 160 miles a day with some of the most enjoyed food stops on tour.

New for 2022, rules for all types of road users have been updated in The Highway Code to improve the safety of people walking, cycling and riding horses. The main changes can be seen here. KAMG submitted its own recommendations during the consultative process which can be seen here.
