Venue: Kent Fire and Rescue Road Safety Experience Centre, Marconi Way, Rochester, ME1 2XQ.
The day consists of three classroom sessions covering KAMG, the System of Motorcycle Control and the Highway Code. These should be completed by 12:30. Lunch can be purchased locally or you can bring something along. The afternoon ride should take a couple of hours. Please try to arrive by 08:45 so we can start promptly at 09:00. Our monthly group social at Brands Hatch – a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. KAMG’s very own Brendan Burke, founder of The Wells Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic, will give a talk on ‘Aching Bones’. Licensed bar and refreshments are available. Non-member guests are of course welcome as always. Starts from 7.00pm.
Practice and improve your slow riding skills and machine control in a safe environment with help and support from our experienced team of observers. Non-members, associates and full members are all welcome. The session is free to KAMG members, and we ask for a donation of £10 from non-members towards costs. Members can register on Tracker. Training runs are split into in groups of four riders with an Observer either leading or tail-ending, the Associate member(s) riding number 2 and 3, swapping around at a halfway stop. This gives Associate Members the chance to be led by a Green Badge holder and witness the calibre of ride they should achieve to gain an Advanced rider test pass.

Meet at Thurrock 09:15. The ride to Maldon is approx 45 miles. Expect to spend around two hours to look around, including tea/coffee. Note there is an entry cost to the museum of £8.50. Back on the bike for a 25 mile trip to Burnham-on-Crouch along some great roads for lunch. The ride back to Thurrock is about 40 miles. Full details on Tracker. Once again, we will be spending a week in the super town of Vianden in Luxembourg. This tour will include rides to Germany, Belgium, France taking in the wonderful Ardennes and Mosel regions. We will be staying in the fabulous Belle-Vue hotel, which boasts secure underground parking, indoor swimming pool, spa and gym.

Meet 17:45 at Maidstone services for 18:00 departure. A social ride using the marker drop-off marker system, a route of approximately 40 miles – for Full Members and Associates. We will be using the drop-off marker system and there will be a briefing on its use before we depart. Ride led by Colin Billings. To gauge numbers for Chequers, please book on KAMG Tracker.
The most gentle trip run by our very own Steve Riches, and great for any level of rider. If you’re new to touring, would like a ride which is easy for a pillion or wish to use this to practice for a longer tour, this is a great trip. Riding mileages are approx 175, 140 & 160 miles a day with some of the most enjoyed food stops on tour.

Our friends at KFRS are kicking off the Bike Season by holding a custom motorcycle show with live music on 24th April at Rochester fire station (right next to the Road Safety Experience centre) in Marconi Way, Rochester, ME1 2FF. A new destination for KAMG, the Scotts Project Trust, which helps people with a learning disability to reach their aspirations and make choices about how to live their lives.

Two hours to look around, including drinks. Then back on the bike for a 25 mile trip to Burnham-on-Crouch on some great roads for lunch. The ride back to Thurrock is about 40 miles. We will present our annual Report & Accounts for the year ending 31/12/2021 for approval by full members and to conduct an election of committee members. New for 2022, rules for all types of road users have been updated in The Highway Code to improve the safety of people walking, cycling and riding horses. The main changes can be seen here. KAMG submitted its own recommendations during the consultative process which can be seen here.
